"Unlocking the power of the atom was supposed to solve humanity's problems.
Instead, it only revealed our need to solve a deeper one."
— A. Einstein
I encountered this quote during my formative years, and it shaped my focus from purely intellectual pursuits to a deeper understanding of humanity, community, and the vital importance of connectedness and perspective in shaping a more compassionate world.
Eventually, after exploring the work Simon Sinek at Google and in The Infinite Game, I decided upon three "infinite" goals, corresponding to three fundamental personal values:
1. Abudance - I want to live in a world where everybody has enough.
2. Freedom - I want to live in a world where everybody is free to be themselves.
3. Integrity - I want to live in a world where everybody chooses to be themselves.
In this order, these values and goals form the basis of all my priorities, which in turn, inform my decisions. This is my Why.
